Raising Global Citizens: What’s the Recipe?

Well, I’ve got you covered on that!
The IGCSE curriculum offers our learners a diverse range of subjects, among which “Global Perspectives” stands out as a unique option. This course encourages our learners to explore and reflect on global issues, developing the skills necessary for active citizenship in our complex and interconnected world. It emphasizes inquiry-based learning and the importance of understanding diverse viewpoints.
To illustrate, let me share the experience of our AS-level (Grade 11) learners. They selected the globally debated topic of “crime” and chose to investigate the involvement of drugs in criminal behavior. To gain a comprehensive understanding, they conducted a survey within the local community to gather diverse perspectives. They further deepened their research through interactions with officials from law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, and non-governmental organizations. Additionally, they consulted research journals from the archives of renowned universities.
Culminating their research, they organized a marathon and presentation to raise awareness within the local community. The entire process undertaken by our learners was meticulously documented with evidence and uploaded to the IGCSE portal for academic evaluation.
The Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives program not only prepares our learners for further academic endeavors but also equips them with the tools to navigate and address global challenges collaboratively. The course is designed to foster empathy, critical analysis, and a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of global issues.
